![]() ![]() The other reason and the biggest reason is that GBPVR is the best supported software I have ever used. One, as stated, Mediaportal uses a lot more resources and since a lot of people are trying to build their media PCs out of older PCs that they have laying around that doesn't always make for a very happy experience. If I have someone ask me what PVR application to use however I almost unanimously point them to GBPVR first for a couple reasons. ![]() ![]() It does however use a lot more resources still then GBPVR does. I think sometimes it gets a bad rap because of what people heard about it years ago and have never tried it again since. I have to say too that I've never had it miss a recording. then it was when I first tried it a couple years ago and the setup is a ton easier. I will say though that they have made huge strides in this department over at Mediaportal. My first reaction to Mediaportal was that it was very buggy and the initial reason I changed was that the setup was such a pain that when I tried GBPVR for the first time it was like a miracle. MP is a very attractive interface but the new PVRX2 has been a huge improvement on GBPVR that makes that almost a non-issue, IMHO. It would just depend on what I felt like dealing with. I used both on and off for quite a while. ![]()
